Sorry . . .

(a pic of an old note card since I had to have a pic for you. lol)

No card to share today, just an apology to anyone who signed up to follow me using the Feedburner link. This link did not work for me as I think I set it up wrong, so, I have switched over to Feedblitz which is used by many of the DTs you're familiar with; iEmbellish, Just Give Me Stamps, and others.
***I've added the new email subscription link to my blog side bar. Signing up through Feedblitz will assure you receive timely notification of new blog posts.
*******a huge THANK YOU to all of my followers!***************

Friends ARE Forever

I love making flowers! It's too hot in central FL to grow the flowers I love so I make them! By combining techniques, inks & water, you can make some really neat flowers. On this card, I wanted to the give the impression of a just opening bud, a young floret and a matured flower. I also spritzed some Ranger Perfect Pearls Mists-Sunflower Sparkle on the flowers. ( which doesn't show up too well in the pics) Up close they just 'sparkle' with yellow shimmery dots. The background is made using shaving cream and re-inkers. I've included a side view so you can see that the swirly flourish is very dimensional as are the flowers.

Stampin' B's Challenge # 116 - Friendship

Edit: I've altered the above card by changing out the card stock base to a dark navy paper. While the light blue card base was pretty the dark navy enhances the overall look of the card.

Supplies used:
paper - Bo Bunnie Timepiece Collection; Bazzill card stock
dies - Heartfelt Creations Posey Patch & Bella Rose; Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Frames
stamps - GKD Friends Are Forever
ink - Memento Danube Blue
other - clear star gelly roll pen, pearls, micro beads, Ranger Perfect Pearls Mists

Summer Sailing

This is my first attempt at creating a scene using the techniques shown by Theresa Momber on her blog. I think I did pretty good creating a horizon with a sunset/sunrise. And my paper piecing (for the challenge) - both the lighthouse and the sailboat were fussy cut after coloring with Copics. The frame is made from a cereal box that I inked up then applied a very thick layer of Ranger distress crackle paint then re-inked to age it. I was trying for something that would look like old leather. The framed image was then mounted on a white card that I used the direct to paper technique to give the impression of white-washed wood.
Let me know what you think....

Not sure if this qualifies as a CAS, but here goes...
I love this dp! It's basic white with the sentiment written in silver and black flock! My graduation caps are fussy cut and mounted on a deckle rectangle label. The top cap is flat black edged in flock then layered over a black flocked cap. To quote a DT "easy peasy"!

Happy Wedding

My second post for today after a 2 week absence.

Whew! Another wedding card under my belt. This one was relatively easy using a wedding stamp set from Inkadinka-do. This card will be given by my brother so I kept it simple yet elegant. His request was for a "really nice wedding card".
The card base, the image and the sentiment were spritzed with Perfect Pearls Mist 'Perfect Pearl'. The shimmer shows up on the card base in the photo but it's difficult to see on the others. Notice the tiny heart made of pearls? sweet!

card stock - Bazzill
stamps - wedding, Inkadinka-do; Vintage Labels 10, Waltzing Mouse
punch - M.S. Garden Trellis
other - May Arts stick pin and silk ribbon, silver dp from my stash, Liquid Pearls, Ranger's Perfect Pearls mist, unknown pearl heart embellie
Nesties - Fancy Tags, Labels 10
ink - Memento

Birthday Birdies

This card is for the daughter of a friend's birthday. I'm also submitting it for the StampTV MUIM 'Wear Your White' challenge. White card stock, white grograin bow, a white tag and white pearl accents. Can you believe that small bow made from 1" wide ribbon. It's so easy with the "Bow Easy". (available at Gina K Designs store)

Card stock - Bazzill
Label - Nesties Fancy Tags II
sentiment - GKD Versatile Verses

sneak peek

See for full view of this "Sherry Made Me Do It" card! LOL

Sherry made me do it . . .

I have always admired and wished I could create altered art and cards similar to what Sherry Cheever designs. Well, here it is "Sherry Made Me Do It!" I've finally gotten the confidence and courage to make a multi-multi layer card. Still could use a few more layers but I like it. Thank you Sherry for your inspiration!!
Entering this card in:

Outlawz Monday Greeting card challenge - May 30 Anything Goes GC053011

edit: although Sherry thinks I'm missing a few (5) layers. Whew! more layers! Gonna need a bigger canvas to work on. LOL Thanks for the comment Sherry!

edit 2: this card is featured in the Outlawz gallery! (6-5-11)

Masculine birthday

This is for my brother who's a biker. And of course, it's a Harley Davidson that he rides! I am entering this masculine birthday card in 2 challenges:

My card base is black as is the sentiment. The eagle is stamped using rusty hinge distress ink on kraft (brown) card stock. The embossed label was cream colored and distressed with soot & tea dye distress inks. The Harley sticker is from Harley Davidson.
