WOYWW ......EEK!

Hey there Deskers!

Where's the bug spray when you need it?!

All kidding aside...I had a blast making these guys. If they were real they'd be squashed....as I can't stand....spiders! Saw a video the other night of how to make a spider pin. Thought to myself... I have the right size beads to make these. Well, my beads were two sizes bigger than used in the video so my spider pins are stand alone tarantulas! Do you not love them?! I do!

So on my desk night are beads, lots of beads, two types of glue, packaging to mail the critters off and tools. This post might spoil the surprise for one of the recipients hopefully she won't see this till Thursday. :)

Wondering why I'm showing you my cluttered desk? Stop by The Stamping Ground for all the deets. Join us as we hop around the world snooping and peeking in on what others are up to. All the links can be found at Julia's.

Please leave your link number so I can pay a return visit. Google+ peeps I try to leave comments, not always successful. Was able to snoop out about 60 desks last week....woo hoo!

Edit: here's the link for the video showing how to make a spider pin. Have fun. YouTube spider video

WOYWW version 224

Hello Deskers!

Very brief from me this week. Started working on charms for the next swap...running a bit behind as I've been over to the hospital overseeing the care of my friend. Hospitals aren't what they used be...enough said.

So I've cleared my desk to work with wire and beads and the necessary tools. The second pic shows I've also done a good clean up of the other desks. Nice and neat and orderly.....aahhhh, I can have peace of mind while I'm working.

For an explanation of WOYWW do stop by the lovely Julia's blog for all links and info.

Have a fabulous week my friends!

Hey all,
Gosh I missed y'all last week! I'm back today with more goings on than you can shake a stick at! :)

Jewelry tools are out getting ready to make charms for the next swap over at Ink Stains with Roni.. There's rusting powder above the tools, the results are on the far left. Not bad but the pieces need to be reworked. I've taken apart a book I'm working on as I've decided I want to stain the skewers. There's stamp plates all cut and ready for cling mount.

And front and center is a beautiful ATC from Robyn. Oh I feel so bad, mine is sitting on the counter all ready for the mail. I'm so sorry Robyn, I haven't been able to get out.

So why am I showing you my messy desk? Pop over and see Julia at the Stamping Ground for all the deets and links to join in the world's biggest snoop.

Have a great week!

T for Tuesday & Rust

Hey all, sorry I've been missing in action for awhile.

Just a quick pop in to join Elizabeth and Bleubeard at The Altered Book lover and Tuesday T.

I've been getting rusty! Well, trying to... I bought some of the Rusting Powder from Crafty Notions in the UK.

Tried spritzing with water - nothing. Tried with plain white vinegar - some success. Must be a trick to this...from what I've seen in crafty blog ville these gears should look amazing. I'm not real thrilled with the results, they're not bad but could be better, not so gloppy. :/ And the usual, not so pretty can of dp. :) At this point in the experiment it was number four.

Some wood circles in lower left, paper pieces just above them and metal gears upper right. The key is cardstock.

So it's back to video land to figure this out. I do like what happened to the crinoline, tho'. :)

Oh! I'm trying my hand at a book!! Here's what I've got so far...

More to come on this....stayed tuned.

Have great week. Will try to catch up with everyone soon.

Home is...

Home is where the ❤is.

Hello all, hope you've had a great weekend! For my US friends, we have another day off to enjoy.

I have another ATC for the challenge over at Fun with ATCs Challenge #95. We're to use black/white/red on our ATCs.

I have a portion of a TH on edge die (house) cut from book paper and stained with picket fence distress stain. Around the edge I've stamped and embossed with red using the TH cracks stamp on a black chipboard ATC. The bird is a leftover piece fussy cut from shiny black card stock. The sentiment and heart were stamped in white acrylic paint.

Have a great start to your week. See you later with a couple more posts.

Celebrate today!
