WOYWW and ... charmed

Welcome Deskers to WOYWW 225!

And to the beginning of the spooky season. So to start you off...
My desk as I leave it Tuesday night with my finished Halloween charms for the swap at Inks with Roni.

I've used images from Artistic Outpost's Gothic 31 plate, so I'm also submitting to their October Referral challenge, HERE.

I've cut the skeleton cameo portion out of the frame as I didn't have any ovals that were the same shape. Using instead a frame from WaltzingMouse stamps that coordinates with Spellbinders Label 10 dies. These were stamped on Shrink Plastic! OMG! This stuff is so freakin' cool! I'm hoping they appear to have a very old mirror in the background.

edited to add:
The backs of the charms were painted with distress metallic paints; brushed pewter and tarnished brass.

As usual, trying to get a good in focus non blurry pic of a shiny object was a challenge in itself. Here's a close up of the charms. The whitish part is the glare.

Hope you like them.

I'm afraid I didn't get to visit all who dropped my desk last week, apologies to you if I missed you. Hoping this week is better for me. And for deets of why I'm showing you my desk check out Julia's blog.

Have a great day and ...

  5. Isn't shrink plastic fun?

Did you paint metallic on the back side to get the shine, or did the shrink come that way?

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for the kind comments.

    Happy Woyww,

  36. Shrink plastic is indeed fun! And it reminds me of those Shrinky Dinks we did as a kid--only once as I think our mom hating being a slave to the oven for our craft. Fun little cameos... that spider on the bottom is to die for. Such a cute touch! Well, I think it is cute. Some folks are probably shrieking and running away.
