WOYWW #191

Good morning WOYWW ers! It's good to be back. I sure missed visiting you all last week. So on to today's desk pic. Want to know what why I'm showing you my work desk? Stop by The Stamping Ground here for all the deets and links.

My pic was taken last night, nothing has changed yet this morn, as I'm being rather snailish today. :) On my desk is an ATC for challenge post later today, some cool looking glossy hearts are drying for the 'Queen of Hearts' challenge at Quietfire Design and some cheese cloth I've died with distress stains for my upcoming card class. Up on the shelf are a couple of the cards for the class and a whole bunch of my stuff. :D

I'll be peeking in at your desks later today. In the meantime,

Celebrate today!

Hmm-bird tag

Oh my has it been two weeks since I've posted?! Time just seems to be crawling by.....Not! (Edit: I have tried for two days to get this post done. sigh)

I have been busy with life and a bit of craftiness. Here's a quick post of a recent tag. Unbeknownst to me, Hels' Sunday Stamper's theme this week is Birds. Have a look at her blog as she does some amazing stuff, Ink on My Fingers.

So here's my tag - I used one of my 'playing around' tag backgrounds on which I've stamped with white acrylic paint and did the spritz 'n flick. Since my label was going to cover most of the paint stamping I added a bit more in the opposite corners. I'm starting to get the hang of this stamping with paint. I like!

My images on the labels 11 tag are all from SU. I probably should of fussy cut and pop dotted  the Hmmm-bird but this will do. This little tag is spritzed with perfect pearls mists in antique gold and cappuccino. Really like the dots of color and they shimmer in the light.

The seam binding ribbon was colored with distress stains; tea dye and tarnished brass and a bit of water. I looped the bow and tied off before drying with the heat tool, as the metallic stains makes the ribbon a bit stiff. Once dried the bow holds it shape! How cool is that? Added a few pieces of white ball chain and called it done.

Enjoy and Celebrate today!

supplies:
distress and memento inks, distress stains, stamps-su and stampers anonymous, perfect pearls mists, seam binding, chain, acrylic paint, manila folder, bazzill cardstock.

WOYWW 189

WOYWW 189! How cool is that?! And still going strong thanks to Julia over at Stamping Ground. Stop by her place for all the deets and links to go desk hopping round the world.

I missed last week due to appointments but I'm here today as I run out the door for more errands.

My main desk today has all of my class prepping. Just need to pull dies and inks tonight for tomorrow's class. I'm also participating in another charm swap so you'll see charms in the works too. My second desk is my snowbird friend's charms. I am teaching her how to make charms. These are drying waiting for their gems.

I'll be desk snooping later today. Have a great week!

Celebrate today!

Butterfly ATC

Good morning friends,

My my I am having a very productive and fun year, creatively that is. Now to keep it going for another fifty and half more weeks! LOL

Today I have a butterfly ATC to show you. ATC #2!

This was on my desk for woyww 187 last week. The butterfly is wooden (a gift from a friend and new) that's been colored with perfect pearls powder on the wings and InkaGold paste on the flower. The ATC was covered with TH tissue wrap but I didn't like the way the grey chipboard showed through so I covered it with a thick layer of gesso then sprayed perfect pearls mists pearl and glimmer mist tattered rose on it. Added some stamping using TH reflections and small butterfly stamps. Inked only the words 'to be' from another stamp and hand cut it out. Then used glossy accents to attach the butterfly and some small flowers with leaves in the corner.

Submitting to:
Fun With ATCs challenge #78 - Something New
My new is using tissue wrap and the wooden butterfly.

Celebrate today!

Please excuse my shadow on the lower left of the pic.

Supplies:

Paper- TH tissue wrap
Ink-archival
Stamps-TH/scampers anonymous

Dragons Dream TIO #132

Yes, a second post from me! (for my Sunday stamper post click Here ).

Told'cha I was hooked on tags! This one is for the Dragons Dream Tag It On #132 - Behind Closed Doors. Criteria - a door, a key and a lock

My tag was specifically made for the Dragons Dream challenge but also qualifies for Simons Says Stamp - New Something challenge.

The back ground is a mish-mash of layers of distress inks and stains which came out very muddy and bloody looking so I added white acrylic paint and metallic stains trying to lighten it. Love the way it turned out! The door is coated with fired brick crackle paint (new) and then rubbed with black soot d.i. to bring out the cracks. This was over stamped with a Heartfelt Creations door stamp. The key, the fab key (love it Caroline!) and my lock is the latch on the outside which then becomes a lock.

Open the door and you see more of the metallic stain shimmer and a sentiment from HC with the frame flourish from WaltzingMouse stamps. Add a metal flower, shimmery ribbon, a word bar and there you have it.

I present my 'behind closed doors' tag. Remember the song by Charlie Rich? Ooho showing my age. :)

Celebrate today!

Butterfly & Rose

Evening all, Sometime ago one of the peeps I follow commented on my blog "you'll get hooked on making tags". Yepper, I am! Now that I've discovered how fun these are and what a neat way to try new techniques and not waste a ton of paper if you don't like the results...HOOKed that's me!
I started the tag background a week ago playing around with TH's dabber resist technique. Didn't read all the steps so I ended up smooshing my white image by pressing too hard. :) So I've add some more layers including TH reflections words. My tag is being entered over on the Sunday Stamper challenge hosted by Hels. Criteria this week - use Words.
I've also stamped flourishes and leaves using acrylic paints. My flower is a ruffled satin ribbon rose with a few Prima leaves d.i. inked and a fussy cut butterfly from the mariposa template.
Back tomorrow with (ssshhh......an ATC!) :O
