One Two ... 257! WOYWW!

We are getting close to another milestone for this phenom called WOYWW! Stop in and meet our lovely hostess, Julia for the story and the links to the fabulous Deskers that participate each week.

Back this week with another couple of master boards. I'm having a ball playing with paints and sprays. With a little stamping and a bit of embossing paste added in for fun. These too will be cut up into ATCs for the fast approaching 5th WOYWW Anniversary swap.

Did you notice my desk this week is the kitchen counter? I make such a mess with sprays! So much easier to wipe off the counter than try to fix projects drying on my desk that get sprayed, no matter how hard I try to aim properly. So I dug out a larger box lid to use as my spray box. See that little pink stripe by the edge of the counter....yep, need a bigger box. :)

Let me know in your comments if you would like to swap ATCs. I can swap 10 this year.

See you as soon has Julia has the link open.

Hugs from me and the Girls

p.s. If there's a hair on your ATC...it's just the girls way of participating. :)

  1. Wow, it's either really, really late, or my eyesight is gone. I can't see the pink stripe, even after I enlarged the image. I saw the box (DUH) with pink in it, but that was it. However, I think your ATCs are going to be totally awesome this year.

Happy WOYWW. No number yet, just getting a head start on things.

  2. OH YES, I want to swap TACs with you, put me on your list, and email me your addy, I thought I had it. Must check again.

Sprays have a way of going where ever they want to go....LOL I agree the kitchen counter is easier to clean, and not ruin any projects that are close by.

  5. Sometimes only a kitchen counter will do... though I always spray stuff outdoors, as I really make a mess :)

  7. Can't see the pink strip either but I thought it was strange to see a toaster oven in a crafty area now it makes sense when you read it lol. I don't think any box is big enough when using sprays I don't know they end up do fat from where you started sometimes. Happy woyww hugs nikki 12

  8. I really enjoyed making my ATCs but did them at a crop (well, most of them anyway) so the mess was elsewhere LOL! I used to do ALL my scrapbooking on the kitchen counter when we lived back in the States - so much easier to keep an eye on the kids then in another room, on another floor of the house. But not sure I could go back to it now, and you've seen my desk and room so you know why LOL! As to the sprays - it really doesn't help that they often say spray from a distance - that does diffuse the spray, but diffuses it all over you, the walls, the floor, the desk, any other project in a 2 metre radius.... I wonder about the effect of a sort of "clean box" - maybe a clear plastic bag, hand with spray inside, wearing gloves, misting INSIDE the bag... might give some interesting drippage off the inside of the bag!

Might just have to give that a go one day. :)

    Happy WOYWW!

  9. Spraying...don't get me started. How come whenever I spray anything, inside or out, that I ALWAYS get covered in the stuff...there's always more on me that the object. Sigh. It s like that with glitter too, always more in my bra than on the paper. I don't mean to do it, it just happens!!!
So I'm glad to see that you have more success!

  10. If I get around to making atc's the way I am going I will swap. Cannot think what to do for them at all. Yu on the other hand are well on the way, great - am sure the sunshine must help although I cannot grumble we have seen the 'old currant bun' recently.

  11. Hello , Nan. May be blind this morning - had bad night - but... what pink stripe?? I would love to swap TACs with you if you have one spare - you have so faithfully taken the time and trouble each week to comment by email as you can't comment on my site. Thank you.
I'm sorry I haven't got back to you yet from last week... life has been manic with travelling up and down the coast to see John.
Take care and have a great week.

  18. I'm back. I wanted to tell you I got the largest USPS box possible, taped up the bottom, and use it as my spray holder. I often put the packaging I get in cereal boxes that looks like wax paper inside the bottom. It catches the excess drips, I can remove it if I'm afraid the spray will get on the next item, and it works for me.

I never THOUGHT anyone would want to trade with me, so all my ATCs, except for the one I've made for my PIF, are gone. Yep, and they are already at their destination, too. If I make more, I'll be delighted to trade, but right now, with waiting on Sally and such, I have limited-to-no time to make more.

  19. I cant see any pink stripe, was that a trick question or is there really a stripe? I think you are pulling our legs. Nice spraying especially love the colours on that one in the box, totally usable.

Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week.

  20. Hi Nan,

How fun! Paints, sprays, and stamps! I would love to swap ATCs if you haven't reached your limit. I haven't started mine yet (booger).

I see the box you used for the inky mess but don't see the pink mark. I've done the same thing with spray paints - remember the bird feeder? I now have marks on several pieces of outdoor furniture!

Thanks for visiting me already and let me know about the ATC.

    Happy WOYWW

  21. Love the bright spray background...your desk is looking similar to mine as I have also used spray inks for the background to my ATCs! Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#43)

  22. I love the look of those spray paints, but sadly I too suck at using them. They either spray everywhere, or... horror of all horrors, no even spraying, just blobs of paint.

  24. Hi Nan, thanks for swinging by my blog earlier..I love the pinks that you have been spraying with. I use a really large cardboard box! Oh and btw, I printed all the names, hand stamping was not an option :) I would love to swap with you, I have nearly finished my ATC's Cx #72

  25. I get splodges with sprays, but had forgotten about using a box to contain the spray.
    Love those pinks.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog.

  26. Hi Nan, I love sprayed backgrounds but have given up trying to do it in the house so in the summer I have a couple of days in the garden where I cover the garden bench with old wallpaper and spray loads of A4 and A3 sheets of paper which I keep ready to use.
If you do enough different colours you nearly always have the one you need.
    Happy crafting, Angela x 46

  28. Good to have you back, Nan! I see you actually came back last week. Your sneak peek at your ATCs is great; they are lovely bright colors!

I want to participate in the ATC swap, too, but feel badly that I haven't been playing in WOYWW much this year. The swap is the 28th, right? Are we supposed to have them done, like about now, and mail them off so they get to people BY the 28th? I need a reminder as I only did it for the first time last year and then I only made one and sent it to the person next to me. Actually, I should go over to Julia's and read the rules, huh?! Darn. I should have WOYWWed today. Hugs, Darnell

  29. Hi! Am smiling at the thought of a hairy ATC rather than the odd random one that you mean! May I recommend a deeper box and to stand it on newspaper and then stand over it on the floor...the only way I can control my sprays!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yep, I get those sprays all over everywhere, too! I really need to start on those atcs . . .

Thank you for the visit, Nan!

  31. Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog for WOYWW. Deli paper is thin like tissue paper but more transparent. Deli's use it to wrap sandwiches, cut meat, etc. I love it! My desk is multi-colored due to sprays. :)

  35. Nan,

Firstly sorry I thought I had left a message early on Wednesday for you as I remember reading about you working in the kitchen and the spray on the bench which I can't see by the way. I still have never seen what this masterboard is IRL but it does look like a fantastic material to work with. Oh and those colours you are using lovely and bright. Again sorry for not being here earlier, just as well I check at the end of the week to make sure I have replied to all. Have a wonderful week.

  38. I think hairy ATC's are going to be big this year...everyone will want one. If you haven't got then your just not where it's at! ^..^
I'm not participating in WOYWW as much as I'd like...well hardly at all since I moved back but I will. I won't be able to join in with the ATC swap but I know you'll have masses of fun.
Spraying paint sounds wonderful but I must admit fills me with dread having just painted all the walls.
Maybe the wood shed or folly would be ideal for such a project in the future (note to self)
Enjoy yourself and have lots of fun. I'll come to peek at all the results. xoxo
