Time and Valentine's

Happy Valentine's Day everyone,

I'm popping in with a post to show you the finished burlap canvas I was working on in the last two WOYWW posts. A little mixed media using burlap, distress paints, TH pocket watch die and the 'on the edge' pine trees. There's a couple of close up pics to show you the dimension and layers on the piece.

And lastly, I was asked if any Valentine's would be putting in an appearance here on Froggy Designs. I actually did make one this year. This is my CASEd version of a tag seen on the Funkie Junkie blog awhile back. In fact, I've used quite a few freebies that Linda puts in your order. I wanted to add a metal butterfly but it wasn't to be found. Embellies have not been organized yet.

(As usual for a clearer on the pic to enlarge for a better view.)

Crafty hugs,
Nan and the Girls

  1. Very pretty! I love them both! Have a great weekend!

  2. Your canvas is gorgeous. Lots of lovely layers made this one very rich and beautiful wall hanging. Of course, it looked nice on your desk, too.

That tag is also beautiful. Although I've never gotten the whole point of tags, I certainly appreciate a beautiful one when I see it.

Sorry to read about your hands. i wish there was something i could do to help, but resting them is the best thing you can do right now.

As always, love and hugs from Bleubeard and Squiggles to T and Baby, and from me to you.

  3. Hi Nan! Long time no see! I finally feel like I'm back to normal after the holidays and then the NBUS Challenge and then Valentines! Speaking of, Happy Valentine's Day! I've thoroughly enjoyed going back to see the progress of the new craft room and I love what you've done, even if it took a bit to find the perfect, and I mean perfect, home for the dies. You and T look very happy there and your work reflects it! That canvas is extraordinary! I love the design and all the texture! I love the Valentine you made, too!! Stop by when you can. I don't WOYWW so much anymore unless I have lots of time for visiting those who only come for WOYWW, in addition to my other friends, but I still plan to visit you, if that's all right. Enjoy the weekend!! Hugs, Darnell

  4. Oh you have been busy Nan... they look fantastic. I love the old timepiece... all very vintage.
The colours are so delicate too
Hope you and the girls had a lovely Valentine's Day

  5. Love the name of your blog and this piece is awesome! That little plane on the watch is a treat. The Valetines day tag is beautiful and very well done. I am your newest follower. Hehe! Hugz and Carpe Diem! ~Niki

  6. Hi Nan . . . popped over to see you from Eileen's blog after you left a sweet comment about my stamps! LOVING these two mixed media projects. They look like a lot of fun to make.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  7. Simply beautiful canvas... I love the texture of the burlap under the paint, as well as those fab chevrons. The tiny plane flying across the face of the clock is a brilliant touch!

And your F&F tag is delightful - so pretty in pink.
